Last night was great

Some girls from my Roller Derby team came by my house to see how I was doing (for those who don’t know, I broke my Tibia so I have to stay at home with a cast).

I had finished the helmet panties and got them made a whiteboard with the track painted in permanent marker so the coach could teach us tactics on the board. I was really proud of my self even tho they weren’t perfect but they all seemed to love it.

Also they came around at 5 pm and had such a great time, they stayed till 2 in the morning! Next week we’re repeating ;)

I still haven’t shown you guys the lovely Medusa I have painted on my cast by the amazing Dead Brownie.
Here’s a close up of the artwork:

Can’t wait to be fully healed and get back on those skates =D

My birthday is the 17th of December guys =)

Diary of a broken leg: day 31

After having a cast for 1 whole month, I finally got it removed.

I dont know if any of you have ever had a cast removed but I was seriously scared for my life/leg with the fucking saw, imagine having something like this cutting your cast and you being able to feel when it touched the coushion intetior just a few cm from your leg.

Also, the worst part was that the nurse couldn’t manage to cut it properly and didnt have enough strength to rip it open, so he called a doctor who helped her out. I swear I felt like I was on a Dexter episode and the doctor had to cut my limbs to hide the body. He had no mercy at all and I was like “shit, fuck, he *is* gonna just cut my let so I stop bitching about having a broken ankle!”

Once the cast was finally off, my ankle was all swelled up and fully bruised, which made my mom hysterical and therefore, making me nervous. We went to the next room to see the traumatologist and basicly he said: 2 more weeks thought putting any pressure to it (so I have to continue with the crutches as if I still had the cast), then I can start using it to walk but with help of the crutches, little by little. Next visit the 16th of December (the day before my birthday).

About work, he said that as I work at a desk and dont need to carry weight or anything, I could go if I wanted. About Roller Derby, 4-6 months with rehab and then little by little I could start skating again.

So after I was done with the doctor, I headed off to see my Roller Derby girls finishing their training. They were all really glad to see me and wee goofed around with my wheelchair them pushing me with the skates on. After that, we organized for them to come later on to my house and party all night =)

Looking for Zebras!

Our team needs help with some of the Roller Derby rules so it would be great if we could get a ref to stay in contact with and ask questions that come up during training.

Take in consideration that we’re a Spanish team and therefore there aren’t many people around who we can debate with.

Please reblog!

Im starting to be healthy

After being stuck 4 months at home with a broken ankle, I’ve taken it as a wake up call to start and be healthy.

I’ve brought an Ipod Nano that includes Nike+ (best thing I’ve brought since the electric blanket), it calculates how much I run, the calories I burn, the pace… and then syncs it up with the Nike website so I can keep a record of my doings.

People who know me will be surprised to hear me say I’ve been: Running, on the beach, during the day. Monday was my first day and I did 5.71km and today 5.88km.

Reasons I’ve started running:

  1. Lose weight
  2. Be healthy
  3. Gain endurance for Roller Derby
  4. Last longer in Mosh Pits
  5. Run faster in case of Zombie Apocalypse

All valid reasons if you ask me =)

I’m one of the lucky who got tickets for Team USA in London

At first I felt kinda guilty cause none of my derby friends could go, and now I feel bad for all those who didnt manage to get tickets and had everything booked.

The tickets got sold out within the first minute of them going on sale, I guess so many years of buying concert tickets just as they come out has finally paid off.

Words cant express how excited I am for this, I’m gonna be all:
over the girls. I’ll be like a little girl in Disney meeting Mickey Mouse.

For those of you who’re also going, please come up and talk to me! I’ll be the only spaniard going there alone, promise I wont bite =)

In moments like these I feel lonely in Roller Derby

Atomatrix just posted that she’s sorry for the mistake she did last season leaving AZRD for Oly just before Regionals.

From all the people from the RD world I’ve got on facebook, I’m sure no one would understand whats going on so I can comment this with.

I need new derby friends.

If anyone out here wanna chat, hit me up!
